Designing printed circuit boards.

• Using PCAD2004 or 2006, create schematics from engineer's input.• Layout printed circuit boards with as many as 32 layers, blind/buried vias, differential pairs, RF grounding, controlled impedance lines, and split power planes. • Route BGAs with .5mm pitch and 1000+ pins. • Build and maintain a parts library. • Boards vary in size from 2"x2" to 16"x16" and contain as many as 1000 components.• Some experience with PADS2007 and Mentor Boardstation• Built specialized testing systems for the various production lines. • Used various hand and power tools, including Wiedeman CNC punch press and Hermes 8000 engraver.• Developed a method for using the engraver to make circuit boards.• Developed a method to use engraver as an ink lettering system.• Hand soldered circuit boards with fine pitch ICs and discreet SMT devices as small as 0402.• Repaired circuit boards using hot air system for replacing ICs.• Designed circuit boards using Mentor Graphics Boardstation software.• Worked closely with persons responsible for paste mask application, auto-placement machine, and reflow oven to make sure the boards were compatible with their equipment.• Calibrated testing stations.• Solved technical problems on the production line. • Prioritized all jobs in queue.• Responsible for coordinating equipment shut downs and routine maintenance.• Maintained log books and flow charts for product moving through the line.
