I am responsible for developing high quality skills development programmes that will help employees operate effectively in a rapidly changing industry. In contrast to many training schemes, BWEC will deliver more rounded programmes which equip employees with both the vital soft skills the underpin great operational performance as well as the hard technical skills needed to meet ever tighter regulatory standards.While our tutors speak a range of languages including Arabic, French and German, international courses are taught in English, but in a manner which takes into account the fluency of the students. Courses can be delivered in Belfast, a vibrant cosmopolitan city, but our tutors are happy to travel internationally. Two key roles: Representing the Authority as Senior Client on a £76M water infrastructure upgrade project replacing five obsolete treatment works with two state of the art new works, and Water Production Manager responsible for running a team of 34 maintaining and improving the existing systems.

Started with AW in 1967 as a very junior trainee laboratory technician. While some of the duties were tedious it was a a great way of learning how water operations really worked.This excellent grounding eventually led to being in charge of AW's arguably most complex treatment plant via a number of high profile secondments.The two secondment highlights were a three month stint with an international bid team based in Metro Manila and 12 months running the Business Continuity function on a £10m company wide IT refresh.Along the way picked up a Cranfield MSc, for which thanks are due toAW.
