As Group Health, Safety and Environmental Director for Bovis Homes, I have played a pivotal role in driving cultural change across the group ensuring that HSE compliance is embraced across the organisation and formulating strategies to facilitate this.As Director of HSE it was my responsibility to keep the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Board members up-to-date with critical information relating to business performance, I achieved this by leading monthly HSE reviews which fostered discussion and shared decision making among the ELT, and attended monthly board meetings providing good-quality, timely information on how the business is performing.Building upon my broad knowledge of the industry, and my understanding of the challenges faced by each role, I was instrumental in resolving complex situations on-site, further leveraging my excellent interpersonal skills to engage confidently with local authorities including the HSE, Police and Environmental representatives reaching agreement on areas of conflict or dispute with a good track record for addressing and resolving enforcement notices and investigations.
