About Boe Hartman

I’m a global banking senior leader who has been at the helm of some of the world's most transformative technology. After I reinvented banking, I built a startup from the ground up that is changing the way people pay for healthcare. As co-founder and CTO of Nomi Health, I’m on a mission to fix the employee healthcare system. It’s broken—bloated with waste, inefficiency and unnecessary costs—and we're working to simplify and cut those costs. With 30 years in global tech and banking, I’ve seen what works and what doesn’t. Before starting Nomi, I spent five years at Goldman Sachs, where I helped launch Marcus—the firm’s entry into consumer banking—as the CTO of Consumer Technology. I built Marcus’ credit card offering from scratch, and later became the Integration Lead for the firm-wide Digital Strategy Group, pushing Goldman toward a top-tier digital experience for all its services. I also served on the Engineering Risk Committee, focused on keeping the firm’s tech secure as we expanded our digital footprint.I was also CIO of Goldman Sachs Bank USA, co-head of the Technology Hiring Committee, and an advisor to the Disability Interest Forum. I was brought on as a managing director in 2015 and made partner in 2018.Prior to Goldman, I was the CIO at credit card technology group Barclaycard, where I developed the technology that supported Barclaycard globally and was responsible for managing billions of transactions across Barclaycard’s financial products. I led the company through digital transformation and explosive growth in the international payment space and several crisis events, including negative interest rates in the EU and the 2012 NatWest Dear Chairman Letter. I also spent 11 years at CapitalOne, where I held a variety of leadership roles across IT and operations, building global products to support their hypergrowth. In 2023, I was honored to participate in the “Humanizing Networks: Human Fraternity in the Digital Age,” symposium in Vatican City in 2023, where I discussed the challenges and opportunities of emerging AI technologies and to advance an open, free, equitable and secure digital future. I also advise startups in AI, fintech and digital identity; I sit on boards of directors for organizations worldwide working to drive needed change; and I advise governors and the U.S. Congress on healthcare legislation. I’m known for bringing in frameworks from my years of experience to make complex problems easy to understand and solve.
