Started as a sport biomechanist assisting top athletes to achieve their peak performance through video and data analysis. Co-authored a research paper ‘Experimental Investigation of Turning Kick Performance of Singapore National Taekwondo Players’ and was published in ISBS Conference 2002. Started own business Terra Outdoors in 2005 , organising outdoor events for individuals and corporates. Being a startup, I have to do it all from marketing, customer relations, training my staff, build up partnerships and planning the programme. I have gained a lot of experience in running a business during this time.Joined Thekchen Choling Singapore in 2008 as a community outreach manager. As it is a new scope, I have to plan new programmes and put together resources to make the programme happen. Started Teach&Reach, a free tuition programme for low income children and assisted by volunteer teachers. I also started Project Maude,a rations distribution project whereby I have to gather sponsors for the food items and also volunteers to pack and distribute to the low income household around King George area. The programme is still running until now. I have also led an overseas outreach project ‘Project Juley!’ to help fund raise for a school building project (Ngari Institute) in Ladakh India. We managed to raise enough funds for the buidling to start and the school has since seen many local kids achieving and going for higher education. I have also led a Youth Expedition programme (YEP) which we brought local Singapore youths to Ladakh for a outreach and immersion programme with the local youths. Looking for better career prospect, I did a career switch to the landscape industry in 2010 as I have a keen interest in environment conservation. Started from ground, my 1st post as a landscape supervisor has given me the 1st hand experience of how the actual work is being done upfront. I am also the project coordinator and have to plan and communicate with my workers and report to the stakeholders and also with our sub-contractor to ensure work is done in a timely manner. To further my interest, I started to lookout for companies specialising in vertical greenery as I believe this is where the future will be. To green up cities and urban areas. I found Vertical Green. The company that I have been working with until now. It was a startup company and I was the 2nd staff running the sales for the company. The company has since grown to a staff size of 51 and we are now running regionally and also do export products. I am now managing my team as sales and marketing director.
