I have recently explored emerging business opportunities utilizing artificial intelligence in cleantech and retail, analyzed the energy storage market, and developed strategies to commercialize new energy technology.In 2012, I joined SerraLux Inc. as President and CEO, taking the company and products worldwide. SerraLux commercialized a revolutionary family of proprietary daylighting products for windows in the large and rapidly growing Green Buildings market.In 2002, I co-founded Solaicx Inc. and served as the company’s President and CEO. We raised over $73 million in VC funding to grow Solaicx into the most innovative silicon ingot manufacturer in the world. We developed the company from inception to a factory with more than 60MW output capacity, then established a 135,000 square feet state-of-the-art silicon ingot production facility in Portland, Oregon, in record time. MEMC (now SunEdison, NYSE: SUNE) purchased the company.While the CEO, Solaicx received numerous awards, including the Red Herring 100 North America winner in 2007, AlwaysOn “Top 100 Private Companies” and “Top 100 Going Green” company in 2007. Greentech Media’s “Top 10 Startup Company in Greentech,” and Managing Automation’s 2008 and 2009 “Top 50 Progressive Manufacturing Award” (fellow awardees included Boeing, Genentech, IBM, HP).
