SkeletonCAD is the next generation of CAD software, delivering significant reduction in mechanical products development time. • One of my major activities was to provide catalogues of innovative solutions in response to problems raised by industrial customers. Once a solution was selected, I was responsible for the project management and execution of the consequent stages: proof-of-concept, development and integration. Certain solutions were offered directly to customers or proposed for research grants.• Achievements: 2 R&D projects for the watch-making industry (with budgets in the range 200kCHF to 1milCHF; 2 preliminary patents submitted in 2014); 1 internal R&D project funded by two consecutive grants of Swiss Space Centre; number of employees increased from 2 to 8.

• In the framework of building a proposal for the ERC Synergy Grants a roadmap of technology development to achieve full scale multi-stage machining simulation was sketched. One of the enabling technologies was developed (re-shaping the fundamentals of Computer-Aided Design) and its commercial deployment is underway.• Other activities: managing the participation of LICP/EPFL in the MuProd project (FP7); teaching activities and master students supervision.• Achievements: 1 patent (see publication list)• Since 2013, I am activating as a guest scientist in LICP/EPFL.

• Thesis topic: Cutting Force Modelling for drilling of Fibre Reinforced Composites, motivated by the need of understanding the underlying causes of delamination defect occurring during machining of long-fibre reinforced composites (carbon-fibre in particular).
