I am a volunteer in the network of engineering experts, whose goal is to inspire the young generation towards engineering. Me and the other volunteers can be booked to hold a presentation about various engineering topics to school pupils. Currently my presentation is about artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning and how it changes the world around us, to the better or worse - it all depends on the humans who decide how to use this amazing power of AI. "Jobshop 2004": intended as a meeting point between the students (future employees) and the companies interested in recruiting. We gave to the students a company job fair and also free trainings on how to write a good CV and to make a good presence on a hiring interview.My job: make the budget, invent the strategy, split the team of 14 into subdomains (logistics, company-hunting, advertising, webpage design, university contacts etc). Keep track of the progress and invent ways to adapt when needed. Keep them working for the pleasure and experience they got, since the volunteers in BEST are never paid. Train the team, then let them jump into the void. Most will succeed to have their job well done - and will like it.We overcame these risks: (1) lack of people resources and (2) the market that (at that time) didn't know us. I'm happy to see that every year many companies get to know us better, today recruiters from different cities travel many km to participate to our job fair.

It goes like that: you have 25 volunteers, no money, some good connections (some inherited, others you have to build) with sponsors and the university - and 5 months to make it happen.Goal: choose and host 20 guest technical students from Europe and give them for free: 2 weeks of accommodation, food, university courses (with the best teachers you can get), teaching materials, social activities, a weekend excursion to see beautiful-Romania and parties every evening. Make some local noise (press conference, TV) so people of Iasi/Romania know what we did.In the end, you have the 25 volunteers tired, half-awake, but luckily still alive, having the 5-hour last meeting of the summer (evaluation!!), under a tree in the campus (too tired to stay in the office) - and saying they have lived the best summer ever. We got the first place (participants satisfaction survey) among the 5 BEST universities in Romania (Iasi, Brasov, Cluj, Timisoara, Bucharest).
