After the marvelous journey in the on-premise industry I decided to challenge myself even further and so I moved into SaaS division here in SolarWinds.-- Acting as PO for SolarWinds Pingdom product (see corresponding responsibilities below)-- Acting as PO for Cloud Platform (analogy with Orion Platform in on-premise business - see below as well)

Currently, I'm working as a Product Owner for Orion Platform project (6 scrum teams), which I was testing for several years. I'm considering this as natural career evolution and my daily business consists of:-- Ownership of Product Backlog - helping to balance priorities (features, technical and architecture improvements, bugs, etc.).-- Translating and breaking down product requirements from Product Manager to user stories.-- Planning and tracking releases based on engineering estimates and collaborating with other POs on schedule synchronization.-- Accepting finished work and driving demos.-- Coordinating for product cross-department activities as a primary contact (Support, Sales, Info-dev, Architecture, etc.)

Adoption of agile resulted in engineering organization structure redesign and thanks to that I got the opportunity to learn something new. In this case, I was responsible for defining technical test strategies and testing practices improvements for Security and Integration testing types plus I was acting as Engineering Manager for SolarWinds licensing team, which consisted of:-- Working with the PO to ensure that my team was delivering customer value with a strong sense of ownership.-- Developing strong technical leadership and competencies within my team.-- Mentoring my team for peak performance and helping individuals to reach their growth goals.

Within this new role, I got more strategic responsibilities like defining the overall global quality engineering strategy and processes.My responsibility for the Orion Platform doesn't change and this consisted of:-- Ensuring that all the end deliverables have a high level of quality.-- Promoting SolarWinds testing/development process.-- Identifying risk and mitigation strategies.-- Identifying cross-product dependencies.People management and hiring responsibilities were slightly adjusted for this role:-- Mentoring senior testers and test leads.-- Participating in performance reviews for senior testers and test leads.-- Participating in recruiting and interviewing up to QA Manager candidates.

Instead of concreate product, I owned all QA activities for the Orion Platform on which these products were built on. This consisted of:-- Ensuring that all the end deliverables have a high level of quality.-- Promoting SolarWinds testing/development process.-- Identifying risk and mitigation strategies.-- Identifying cross-product dependencies.People management responsibilities again remained almost the same as before promotion:-- Mentoring the testers and senior testers.-- Participating in performance reviews for testers and senior testers.-- Coordinating the technical training for the test teams.-- Monitor new employee training.It's worth to mention that I started participating in a hiring process, which was about leading the interview or acting as "technical guru" and later evaluation of candidates.

I was responsible for daily testing of two SolarWinds products: Network Performance Monitor and User Device Tracker, which consisted of:-- Participation in test analysis, preparation of test documentation as well as the creation of test strategy plan.-- Performing functional, regression, scalability, stress/performance & acceptance testing.-- Ensuring that product features were delivered on time with high quality.-- Assisting support department on analyzing customer issues and providing extensive details for the development teams.I automated installation flow for several SolarWinds products (Powershell) together with virtualization infrastructure (Hyper-V). Later this solution was integrated with another (web-based) internal automation framework.
