DIRECTOR OF SHORT FILM PROGRAMMING (March 2014-November 2016)♦ Programming. Lead the expansion of the Shorts Program with the creation of enduring specialty programs including LGBT program “Short, Sweet and Queer” (est. 2013), “Sci-Fi Shorts” (est. 2014), Horror program “Nightmare on Short Street” (est. 2015), and assisting with the development of the NBFF’s Music Video Showcase (est. 2013), “Irish Shorts” program (est. 2015) and “Made in California Shorts” program (est. 2015). Manage the short film selection process. Curate short film programs for festival week and off-season programs, including Orange County Film Society Shorts presentations. ♦ Directing the Shorts Programming Team. Guide and oversee the Shorts Programming Team in recruiting, selecting, promoting and presenting films. Develop and implement internal procedures. ♦ Working with filmmakers. Scouting short (and occasionally feature) films from filmmakers, film institutes and distributors. Working with them through the submission and review process. ♦ Guiding the Reviewing Process. Worked on the redesigning of the festival’s reviewer selection and training process in and developed training materials, including a comprehensive instructional reviewing manual. Oversee and support the Reviewer Coordinator. ♦ Developing a community. Building community and cultural partnerships, representing the short film program at other film festivals, industry events and to the media. ♦ Developing Support.
