MED Land project is a creative multimedia producing photo-features and films which document and interact with the Mediterranean world. The project aims to portray the Mediterranean islands’ identity and charisma by presenting its potentials, sustainable patterns of survival, creativity, and social tolerance.The interviews and portraits in the project are co-created by the self-portraits and real stories of actual inhabitants in Mediterranean islands. This makes the project grow to be hundreds of participants and authors. Our target is 200 interviews with inhabitants on the 189 islands, documented with photographs and video, which are published as a book and online stories, presented in exhibitions and AV lectures, with the aim of creating connections and social networks.How:・Visiting 189 inhabited Mediterranean islands by sailboat, which enables us to establish communication and relationship.・Interviewing local people acting for a social change to share their stories about their lives. The themes of the interview are created by the younger generation, universities, and organizations on the Mediterranean.・Documenting self-portraits and audio-recording for creating documentary photo essay.
