My name is Bojan Brecelj, freelance artist working on journalistic and art projects based on photography. In 2016, I started working on the MED land project. I'm a Mediterranean native, a professional photographer, artist and journalist, sailing and diving the Mediterranean since childhood.My creative work encompasses the field of visual communication and primarily expresses itself through photography–documentary, experimental and fine art. When it comes to documentary photography, I focus on themes that relate to the environment, continual development and societal changes, while tackling possible solutions and the positive aspects of said issues. Between the years of 1988 and 2002, I worked as a freelance photographer and collaborated with various magazines and photography agencies in France, Italy, England and Germany (such as Getty Images, Corbis, Sygma, Still Pictures, Visum, Saola, Grazia Neri).My longest and most fruitful collaboration was with Sygma France, an agency nowadays known as Corbis France. My fine art photography explores the complexity of visual perceptions and is deeply rooted in nature, my ceaseless source of inspiration. Some of the most widely known publications in which I publish my work are Geo Korea, Dazed&Confused, Focus UK; my most renown book is a monograph titled Strange Friends (Stemmle edition, Zurich-New York, 1998) and my most renown exhibition is Mayland, Ljubljana, Nottingham, Beograd, 2002.
