While working in HR in Digicel in Trinidad, Michael was part of a team that planned and delivered recruitment projects and staff training within the organisation. This work varied from communicating with department directors and top level management regarding departmental recruitment requirements to calling applicants to conduct initial phone interviews. Michael was also a member of an interview panel for a number positions. His role included identifying and providing for staff up-skilling needs.

After completing my BA in Economics and Sociology Michael worked as a teacher in Gonzaga College secondary school. He took classes in a wide range of junior cycle subjects and supervised study periods throughout the school. Michael was also involved in coordinating a range of extra curricular activities for the entire student body. From his time working in the school Michael honed his communication skills for individuals and groups. This involved adapting to the differing learning styles of his audience and teaching new concepts and techniques from first principles in easy-to-learn steps.

Dublin

Michael was employed by Gonzaga to coach and manage the school’s rugby and cricket teams. On the macro level, his role involved creating the overall plan for the season’s training and matches. On the micro level, he organised day-to-day training session structures, individual player management, as well as seeking feedback from other coaches and players, in order to improve future sessions.
