The Hauppauge Public Library is a public library serving almost 11,000 people.• Administer all aspects of library services and operations, a staff of 50 employees and a $2.5 million budget. Changing the service model of the Library in order to be more community-engaged.• Planned and opened 50% larger space in April 2018.• Redesigned web site, hauppaugelibrary.org, library cards, newsletter and other information to update our look to be more relevant to patrons.

The Westhampton Free Library is a public library serving nearly 12,000 people.• Administered all aspects of library services and operations, a staff of 40 employees and a $2,358,635 budget.• Built state-of-the-art 14,250 sq. ft. LEED Gold library facility. Opened in June 2010. Project was $7.8 million and financed after a successful referendum in October 2007.

The Brookhaven Free Library is a small suburban public library serving nearly 26,400 people.• Administered all aspects of library services and operations, a staff of 18 employees and a $586,000 budget.• Adjusted pay scale, job descriptions, and benefits to attract better candidates.• Updated look of all external and internally produced information.• Added service hours, staff, programs, and moved along stalled meeting room addition (completed fall 2005).• Started the process with the Board to examining establishment of Planned Giving program to maintain mission of Library for perpetuity.

The Kingston Library, http://www.kingstonlibrary.org, is an inner city public library serving nearly 24,000 people.• Administered all aspects of library services and operations, a staff of 12 employees and a $540,000 budget.• Guided and implemented strategic planning process involving the community.• Coordinated with internal and external agencies on new and developing services.• Developed public relations program to promote awareness of library programs and services.• Improved service and standardized procedures. Key indicators went up nearly every month. Residents passed a referendum increasing the library tax rate.• Encouraged the Library Friends group to become a catalyst for change in the Library by providing advocates, support, time and effort, and exposure for the Library.

The Mid-Wisconsin Federated Library System, http://www.mwfls.org, serves 27 public libraries in three counties. Services included: daily delivery, Internet/WAN, consulting, automation planning, and ongoing projects.• Managed the TIGER Project, http://tiger.mwfls.org. This $200,000 project provides a “linked” system, using epixtech’s URSA software, for three catalogs located within the system. It connected thirteen libraries and provided access to over 850,000 items. It allowed patrons to place direct holds via any browser with delivery of materials within forty-eight hours.• Managed the WAN/Internet. This involved filing for e-rate, managing CIPA/N-CIPA compliance, dealing with state agencies that provide discounted T1 lines for libraries, consulting with our network engineers and our Internet Service Provider. We also provided access to electronic resources, ex. Grolier and netLibrary, using IP authentication.
