Conduct independent, primary-source research both online and archival, present findings in both written and oral form, plan and organize dissertation project, work with committee to meet quarterly goals, co-create a welcoming departmental climate

This project uses social dancing and horticulture as therapeutic modalities, in combination, to explore and improve upon one's kinesthetic wellness and intergenerational interactions. Through a series of classes offered in both group and individual settings, participants will move through sensory-stimulating garden activities and social dance exercises. First, using gardens as the classroom, we engage with plant materials to promote health and well-being. Then, while learning fun steps in Afro-Latin dances, we explore Lead and Follow roles in social interactions. Ultimately, participants will advance their abilities on the dance floor, in the garden and in their overall social experience.

Manage classrooms of 15-30 students, create and execute lesson plans while considering each student’s need and ability, communicate to administration and parents, assess classroom layout for safety and ease of daily activities.
