I teach planning theory, land use, and politics and planning courses. Research areas include: civic bureaucracy, public service, the role of planners in democracies, effective planning practice, & media and planning (particularly television).

Coordinating process and writing update to Johnson County's Rural Comprehensive Plan.

Project manager for City of Liberty's national American Planning Association award winning land use plan and visioning process, "The Blueprint for Liberty" and project manager and author of Liberty's "Wireless Communication Facilities Plan and Ordinance" which was honored with a best plan award by the Missouri APA Chapter . Manager of planning process for Mill Street improvements. Current planning duties included processing development applications, writing staff reports, and helping citizens navigate and participate in the planning process. Liaison to Mid-American Regional Council serving on various committees.

Wrote departmental annual report, population estimates and projections, updated sections of the comprehensive plan and coordinated public participation and assisted with Consolidated Plan in collaboration with the Community Development Department. Current planning duties included answering questions from the public and writing staff reports.
