Horticulturist: I had the pleasure of leading interns, volunteers, and my team members to work on projects during my time at Lotusland, a 37 acre botanical garden. This experience highlighted the importance of sustainable horticulture, the beauty of land stewardship, and the power of collaboratively working with a small team to accomplish mutual goals.Fulfillment manager:This position really helped me step into a leadership role. I learned that organizational skills are a key asset for success and the importance of building strong business relationships while managing the logistics of event coordination. The challenging yet very rewarding element of this position was learning how to adapt to many different circumstances.Vice President of the Student Sustainability Collective:This experience nurtured my passion for joining nature and community together. I helped organize and co-host workshops, meetings, fundraising events, field trips, and club member recruitment. I found my voice for public speaking when I was in the garden teaching my passion for sustainability and food security to students, faculty, and community members.During my time filling these key roles, I have six cumulative years of experience in project management and four years of event planning with a focus on community engagement. This exposure has helped me to thrive in situations where I am responsible for multi-tasking multiple projects while sharing my enthusiasm to increase productivity.
