I am a professional artist. I hold a BFA (CU-Denver Summa, '93) and an MFA (U of MN, '97) in Sculpture, and have been exhibiting and selling my handmade-paper based, mixed-media artwork at galleries, universities, and art centers throughout the US. since 1992. I currently hold an Alternative Teaching license through the Colorado Department of Education.My professional work experience spans several industries: Higher Education, Marketing and Publicity, Transportation, and Oil & Gas. For my "day jobs," I have been the head of the Sculpture program at Regis University in Denver, CO since 2015, and the Office manager and petroleum technician for Reed W. Ferrill & Associates in Golden, CO since 2012. For Regis, I have been teaching beginning, advanced, and studio sculpture to majors and non-majors, including curriculum design, teaching, and organizing visiting artists and exhibitions of my students' work. I have also taught Art In Culture for the last two years. For Ferrill & Associates, I primarily work with Quickbooks, Microsoft Excel, and ARIES. Ferrill & Associates provides Petroleum Engineering - mostly production & revenue forecasts - for clients and banking institutions. I will be exiting both these positions by the end of May 2020, and beginning a new career in August 2020; teaching Art full time at Florida Pitt Waller K - 8 school in far East Denver as a Denver Public Schools teacher.Before working at Ferrill & Assoc., I spent 2 years as a communications specialist for Layer Cake Creative, a boutique Marketing company in Denver. I have taught Fine Art and Design classes at the College level from 1997 to present at CU-Denver, Regis University, Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design, and Metropolitan State University of Denver (holding both full-time and part-time appointments at different times). I was Co-Director of CORE New Art Space, a local cooperative gallery for two years, and I spent 7 years managing two Denver-area pedicab companies.
