Scientists were able to save 2 weeks of their time using the system and leverage automated error checks, allowing them to analyze their data faster and more accurately.- Lead UX researcher for understanding data science workflows and model building & management processes to provide solutions for data scientists to easily document, reproduce and share their work. Uncovered unmet user needs around challenges in data wrangling, hardware issues, as well as difficulties in sharing knowledges. Research work was able to steer project into a different direction, ultimately reducing resources.- Lead UX designer for early phase development of in-vivo research data capture system for research scientists. System allowed users to capture data in a curated and systemic way, while supporting their existing workflows. Established a collaboration process between business analysis, user research, design, product management and engineering so that the distributed team can work more effectively given logistics constraints.- Lead UX designer for mid phase development of data management platform. Platform allows different databases to be connected for further data mining, analysis and visualization, with possibilities for machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Recent projects:- A high profile web solution for complex workflows and large, multi-dimensional data analysis. Enabled bench scientists to run complex data analysis with web UI & data visualizations, rather than working with data analysts to run scripts in the command line.- A web based & open-source chemical structure editor in collaboration with several pharma companies worldwide to replace current thick-client solution. Gathered requirements and iterated. - Collaborative scientific experimental data documentation & analysis web apps to enable scientists to capture & share their data in real time. Previously, scientists relied on Word, Excel & PPT, which caused high error rates, duplicate data entry and data could not be shared within the company. - Created a video series to educate & promote user research process in the organization.

• Conducted various user research and design tasks for internal web application development projects in many platforms, such as web, mobile and Sharepoint. Projects and responsibilities include –o Web & mobile applications for scientists to enable real time data and workflow management in the lab. This project enabled scientists to flexibly work with iPod Touch app instead of writing data with pen and paper in the lab, which resulted in having several errors to zero per week and increased efficiency. o Lead design of creating a web application for scientists to view experiment images and create an image analysis. This project allowed scientists to run their own analysis with the web UI, instead of working with data analysts to run scripts in the command line. o Responsible for creating a library of UI elements and icons to be used in all internal web applications. Elements include icons created with Photoshop & Illustrator and jQuery patterns using HTML & CSS & SVN. The library of assets provided a consistent user experience for the internal research community & expedited development process.
