I work as a part of Binary's Backend team. We use Perl as a core language and PostgreSQL and Redis for data storage.My daily routine tasks include but are not limited to:- Converting various business needs and law requirements into code.- Constant optimization of current codebase and cutting down infrastructure costs together with DevOps ninjas.- Making other departments' life easier by automating their workflow.- Active participation in team work solving complex tasks with other departments.

As an individual business owner, my responsibilities include every single aspect of all - technical, marketing, customer support - areas of the company. The specialties I cover on a daily basis include but are not limited to:DevOps Engineer:-running few dozens of nodes with containers(OpenVZ) with client and backend services.-blocking most of the DDos attacks on my clients’ servers with the help of hardware (using L3/L4 ACL on network hardware) and software (fine-tuning of iptables on nodes) settings.Software engineer:- developing my company’s web panel in-house. It’s split into backend and frontend parts. Backend is a Perl/Catalyst application, while frontend is built with AngularJS.- improving the panel as well as numerous backend internal scripts. They are written in Perl with some portions in shell. The data is stored in MySQL, with cache in memcached- using Amazon's Route53, CloudFront, S3, EC2, SNS, SQS and SimpleDB besides running our own nodes.Customer support and marketing:- providing high-quality service does the best marketing. Thanks to this and a word of mouth (the company was never advertised), the client base has grown from zero to hero.- managing the affiliate program- providing technical customer support to my clients on a daily basis
