After graduating high-school during a gap year I came back from my travels in USA. One day a friend of mine called me and invited me join him as WALL-E & in this cool company called Replace (Now Foxway). It sounded interesting, but what got me to join was the IMPACT the company was having. It was one of the first UpCycling & ReCycling company in the region for processing used technology. The amount of stuff these guys were processing daily was insane. I jumped in and was intrigued right away.My job was to test and fix used smartphones, computers & speakers. I'm a tinkerer so it was a blast.However, seeing the amount of technology and E-waste that is produced and thrown away was shocking. From old Nokia 3110s to brand new iPhones - all of them were destined to the junkyard. We were fixing as many as possible or foraging the precious metals from those not worth repairing. This experience sparked my interest in sustainability & using our resources wisely of our very finite earth. I applied to study Applied Energy Engineering and I left the position to pursue an degree in Renewable Energy.
