Boris Goranov is involved in security since 1999, hacking smart cards at TNO. He holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the Delft University of technology. In his thesis he designed and piloted an electronic voting system for democratic elections. Before founding Ubiqu he was responsible for Identity topics related to smartcards and PKI mainly focused on government and healthcare market in the Security practice of Siemens IT Solutions and Services. The past couple of years he has held many talks on the convergence of logical and physical access control, elaborating on the lessons learned from various projects. Besides IAM and smartcards Boris Goranov is also active in the field of security policy development and business continuity management for large organizations in the government and industry sectors.
