Personal autonomy is what people value most. The ability to move and express ourselves freely, an opportunity to live a self-determined life and the power to shape and transform what has been given to us is the greatest good of a human being. No rules, or laws, and ethics will be accepted unless adapted by people to give them a higher level of subjective freedom. In education, or in life experience, any piece of knowledge to be learned, any theory to be understood is made a personal belief, only to support the subject’s sense of autonomy. The spark of technological novelty is what makes science, society and, eventually, the arts evolve. Science has been able to transform life on earth since its theories started challenging technological solutions, and any new power societies have to support the individual can eventually be tracked down to nascent technological solutions. These two lead me as a researcher in philosophy, a physics and mathematics teacher and now a consultant and manager.
