Patented a universal cancer vaccine based on the similarities of pregnancy and cancer. Opened up my own laboratory at the Janssen Labs in San Diego. Raised funding, hired personnel, organized experiments, oversaw daily operations, wrote business plan, worked on business development, conducted pre-clinical trials, and ultimately partnered with the wrong people leading to the company running out of money.

Based on the patent I published, Vaxenta was started as a company which worked to develop a universal cancer vaccine for men and women. The initial research was conducted in San Diego at the Janssen laboratory facilities, which enabled the company to write, submit, and publish an international patent through the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).The type of work I specifically did included every aspect of business operations, from laboratory bench work to animal studies and boardroom meetings as CEO. I helped raise the funding needed to establish the business, strategically hire employees, and present at conferences to build a scientific and professional advisory board.
