About Borith Seng
I am an experienced pipeline hydraulic engineer with extensive knowledge of pipeline liquid/hydraulic simulation. I run both transient (surge, relief, line fill, purge, pigging, start up and shutdown, among others) and steady state (capacity) in both long distance pipeline and concentrated gathering systems and everything in between. I've worked with various sized stations ranging from multiple extra large tank facilities with many booster and mainline pumps to simple transfer stations with a inlet and outgoing meter and pigging facilities. Some of my many responsibilities is to run capacity studies for current assets and find incremental volumes on future potential forecasts. I run transient studies to ensure the newly built systems are adequately protected via a relief valve so that an MOV closure or meter blockage along the flow path does not rupture the pipe. I run horsepower calculations. I run pigging, purge, and fill calculations. I keep track of forecasts on a gathering system, I project and present snap shots of a field in the future to key stakeholders. I support project engineering on feasibility studies as opportunities arises. In my role as a leak detection engineer, I keep track of false alarms and monitoring uptime using the latest RTTM methods along with Over/Shorts and Line Balance. I have recently learned to apply Power Automate to complement my modeling and analysis processes. I am also familiar with Enhanced RTTM methods using the Neyman Pearson Lemma of Theory testing to use statistical signature recognition to complement the real time transient model. In my current role, I utilize both cutting edge Krohne software and SPS software to make a well informed decision about whether a leak alarm is false or real.I have a knack for solving problems and am reminded by colleagues that I learn quickly as well as am a gathering system guru because of the amount of gathering system capacity studies I attend to. My recent background applies to WTI and the permian basin conditions but my courses in Thermo/Fluids/Heat Transfer gives me a unique perspective in the industry and this particular field.
Listed skills include Labview, Stoner Pipeline Simulator, Olga Software, Pipeline Studio, and 27 others.
