Dsp Software Eng.
Software DSP Engineer (Intern) at Tarana Wireless Inc. (July 2017)My work involved using C/C++, MATLAB, and Python to simulate and write the DSP algorithms. Particularly:• Simulated parts of the PHY layer which is required for calibrating the system, using MATLAB.• Used MATLAB to simulate the spur engine, an engine that creates multiple single tone waveforms to compensate for well known spikes on the system.• Wrote and optimized required DSP code for the spur engine, using C programming.• Wrote unit tests for different parts of the DSP code including the spur engine, using C++ programming.• Created test vectors to analyze the unit tests on real time system, using C and MATLAB.• Wrote Json parser to extract simulated data from test vectors, using C and MATLAB.
Software Dsp Engineer (Intern)
My work involved using C/C++, MATLAB, and Python to create unit tests for different parts of the DSP code. Particularly:• Used MATLAB to compute a set of weights that are used to realize channel reciprocity in the transceivers, given an input test-vector. Then, created a unit test in C/C++ to estimate the error between real weights calculated by the FPGA and the weights calculated in MATLAB. • Used MATLAB to implement a Hamming-window-based filter that smooths the mentioned weights. Created a unit test (gtest-based) to compare the results from MATLAB and FPGA.• For memory efficiency, smoothed weights are compressed using proprietary algorithms which I verified in a unit-test using a similar methodology.• Used a JSON-based data communication protocol between MATLAB and C which required creating parsers in C/C++. • Used GDB extensively for debugging C/C++ programs under Linux.
