Boštjan Bugarič (1976) was born in Koper, Slovenia. He is an architect, urbanist, researcher, activist and editor focusing on topics of social transformations of public spaces, influence of migration processes on city development, recuperation of communities and water distribution as a basic human right. In 2000 he founded KUD C3, a collective for spatial research and studies of contemporary urban trends. The project Public City was awarded by the Chamber of Architecture Slovenia with a Golden Cube (2011) as a best project executed by institution. For the University of Primorska in Koper he coordinated the acreditation (2008-13) and established the Faculty of Built Environment, where he took a position of the acting dean from 2011 to 2013. In that period he was active as a president of the Society of Coastal Architects Koper, Slovenia. In 2012 he leaded a project of reestablishement of SKICA in Vienna- the first Slovenian cultural centre abroad. As a member of the jury for the 37. Salon of Architecture in Belgrade he chosen the architectural production in Sewrbia for 2015 at the Museum of Applied Arts. In 2017 he was invited to be a visiting critic at Cornell University Rome. He is a native Slovenian, excellent in English, Italian, Spanish, Croat and fluent in German. Based between Berlin, Ljubljana and Koper he collaborates with STEALTH.unlimited (Rotterdam, Belgrade), Soho in Ottakring (Vienna), Centre for Central European Architecture (Prague), Parsons the New School of Design (New York). Currently he is a professor at the Faculty of Humanites Koper, and research collaborator at Faculty of Architecture Ljubljana, and a researcher and editor at Architectuul (Berlin).
