CurrentUnder limited supervision, incumbents perform the highest-level paraprofessionaland technical personnel assignments a majority of the time. Assignments at this level vary considerably and dutiesmay include: certify and maintain accurate hiring lists; plan and implement internal, external, and difficultrecruitments, with responsibility for all aspects of the recruitment process; assist management withdisciplinary/grievance issues by gathering information and facts, processing required forms and providinginvolved parties information, NAC/NRS references, and proper procedures during the initial stages of disciplinaryactions, complaints and grievances; audit, reconcile and authorize personnel/payroll documents and transactionscompleted by others; and recommend approval/disapproval of FMLA and catastrophic leave requests. Incumbents may research the most complex personnel/payroll issues and process transactions such as workers’compensation buy-backs and overpayments.Personnel Technician III’s work with considerable independence within the assigned technical area, requiringinterpretation of information, planning and refining work methods, application of technical personnel regulationsto specific circumstances, and choices made from several alternative courses of action. The Personnel TechnicianIII may supervise and evaluate the performance of lower level Personnel Technicians and/or support staff.
