- Developed reliable and scalable micro-services using Java, Ruby, and Go- Worked on Square's Identities team building and maintaining the service to surface merchant data to all teams and products across Square. This data includes all the personal information and business information for all of our merchants, their locations, and their employees.- Managed data in online data stores like MySQL databases as well as offline data warehouses like Vertica and Snowflake.- Worked in the entire product development lifecycle including consulting on product requirements, system design, implementation, integration/unit/acceptance testing, distributed multi-DC deployments, and post-launch maintenance with metrics/error based paging and support tickets.- Worked on a many year migration project completely rewriting and migrating Square's merchant data from the original Ruby on Rails monolith to a highly reliable and scalable Java micro-service.- Worked on privacy protection of Square's PII as it related to GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws.- Worked on/with the Auth team (used to all be the Identities team, but then split into 2 teams) on storage and implementation of Square's authentication service. - Worked closely with Square's various security teams to implement secure solutions for Square's PII, credential information, and other secrets.- Developed external developer APIs for external developers to leverage the Square platform to build their own products.- Worked with large scale monitoring solutions like SignalFx and DataDog to publish metrics and set up alerts to monitor the health of our systems.- Heavily involved in the hiring process including tech screens, in person coding interviews, system design interviews, and past experience interviews. Was also involved in campus recruiting events and lead sourcing.
