Before knowing where my career path was going, I participated in a lot of leadership/team work rolls in high school. There was a fairly large leadership program which allowed me to try new things in various leadership positions. I’m very passionate, proud, and excited about what I was able to achieve at such an early time before knowing where my career was going. After high school, I had the opportunity of working as an intern for WPI. For 2 consecutive summers, I worked as an engineering project assistant around the office. This was my first experience working in a professional setting. It gave me a huge perspective of what the industry looks like. I’m grateful for the opportunity and the experience that I was able to receive during this time. Working with people of different backgrounds and ages allowed me to develop my communication skills past what I’ve learned in high school. As a studying industrial & systems engineer, I joined BUILD,a service organization. We spent the majority of the time building clinics in shipping containers. To support the organization, I was a part of internal relations in which I planned many social events—as a team and individually. After a year of commitment, I decided to explore academic/major specific organizations. Currently, I am a part of IISE and I am working towards becoming a member of Alpha Pi Mu (candidate status). As a personal interest, I joined Engineering Incubator which teaches engineering students about entrepreneurship. While in the process of deciding where I should focus my career path, I find it difficult to choose what I like best because I truly have a passion for stepping out of my comfort zone and trying new things.
