I lead the implementation of the clinical and translational research informatics infrastructure at UCSD. This includes the development or deployment of secure systems for managing data and platforms for data analysis.I conduct research in knowledge representation to facilitate the sharing and rapid implementation of clinical practice guidelines into clinical decision support.

I led the development of novel technology for monitoring patient care and follow-up for critical situations. I received two SBIR awards from the National Instututes of Health for this effort.
