Emergency Call System

Current

Today’s travelers expect a safe and secure environment with the ability to seek help or information instantly. Instant communication, messaging, and data have become a way of life. Imagine being lost and alone on a subway platform. With one press of a button, an operator at a centralized communication center can see you and take quick steps to help; calling on train conductors, transit police, or other services. We have developed the Enhanced Emergency Booth Communication System (EEBCS) as a call center software solution for both emergency and informational calls from Help Points and the Station Server Centers (booths). The system also has the capability of remotely managing and controlling Help Points and other field equipment. EEBCS facilitates the configuration and administration of a Help Point System, as well as other legacy digital and analog systems. EEBCS monitors the health of devices and manages the answering of each assistance or emergency call. When the call must go through…

Digital Media Screens For In Stations And On Trains

For quick access to transit schedules, arrivals, service changes, local maps and advertising, BTI manufactures a series of indoor and outdoor digital media screens and totems for installation in train stations, out at street level as well as onboard trains. These interface with cellular or WiFi service to load and display changing content. The onboard system is rail certified and a complete media solution is offered to power the screens as well as link them all together and provide the wireless links to load the content.

Digital Media Kiosks

People on the go want to stay connected to their work, their homes and their social networks. They also want quick access to information, whether it’s transit schedules, wayfinding, or guides to local businesses, restaurants and events. Digital Kiosks can be an invaluable resource for residents and visitors alike. They can provide essential community information and services, including free device charging, Wi-Fi and local calling—to keep people informed, engaged and connected. BTI has designed, engineered and manufactured outdoor digital media kiosks for a cellular carrier communications system of a worldwide provider. These kiosks empower people to connect, discover and go.

Train Control

With challenges such as increased train traffic and rising passenger expectations for fast and reliable service, success for rail operators today is measured in factors such as safety, punctuality, and convenience. Siemen’s Mobility has called upon BTI to integrate a suite of cabinets for their Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) system, an automatic train control system for mass transit. This system basically allows the trains to run closer together and on schedule which allows for riders to get to their destinations safely and on time.

Public Address

BTI has designed, engineered and manufactured the latest generation of Public Address and Customer Information Screen (PA/CIS) Cabinets. The Public Address (PA) System in the subway furnishes live or recorded audio and text messages to the riders about train service and other passenger related information. The PA audio plays over a zoned speaker system throughout the station and utilized ambient sensing microphones to adjust or pause the audio due to loud noises such as trains entering or leaving the station. The text messages are displayed on electronic Customer Information Screens (CIS) and display information such as the next train arrivals.

Underground Radio

NYCT and First Responders (NYPD, FDNY, EMS) require UHF and VHF radio coverage extended into the underground subway system throughout all passenger areas, station complexes, tunnels and on moving trains with seamless handoff from adjacent systems. BTI offers various factory customizable Type 1 and Type 2 Bi-Directional Amplifier (BDA) Cabinets that meet and exceed all agency requirements. The uplink path is a high sensitivity low power output to boost the signal towards the head-end and street output whereas the downlink is a high output power design in order to transmit signals through radiating cable and distributed antenna system. The BDAs are integrated with a complete set of status and control infrastructure to provide full access and monitoring capabilities.

Pslan

Many times the existing station infrastructure does not support the distribution of power and data to every location where the customer would like a Help Point or other end point device requiring 48VDC or PoE power and a data connection. Our easily deployed Passenger Station Local Area Network (PSLAN) system can pipe data and power to preferred locations without causing significant damage or alteration to the sites. Our Access Nodes, Aggregators, and Access Points were developed for use in harsh transit environments and are expandable, reliable and maintainable Ethernet edge service units for life safety communications and security devices. The Aggregator adds secure wireless tri-band Mesh network access, as well as the wired network and power. When expansive wireless coverage is needed, the Access Point extends the wireless coverage provided by the Aggregator. All of the PSLAN subsystems are fully managed with an integrated alarm and control monitoring system. Additional features are a battery backup system and intelligent power shedding, control, and supervisory functions for all aspects of power.

Help Point Intercoms

Using innovative technology, advanced manufacturing techniques, and best-in-class resource providers, we are able to offer a world class Help Point Unit (HPU) which provides hands free VoIP intercom over wired or wireless mesh networks along with high quality video surveillance in a sleek, durable, and fully integrated solution. The BTI HPU provides informational and safety communications, along with security, in the harsh transit environment with its reliable, efficient, and expandable design. The HPU is fully SIP compliant, highly visible, ADA compliant, and weather and vandal resistant. In an age where alerting people to emergencies and/or reporting suspicious situations is critical, Boyce Technologies is proud to deliver its state-of-the-art Help Point Unit security system. If you see something…say something. TM
