This being my first internship ever I thought this was a great way to immerse myself into the real world of engineering.Some of main responsibilities as a systems engineering Intern included testing and analyzing new electronics for military and defense applications. Throughout this process I learned how to use and operate heating chambers as well as vibration tables in order to torture test new products. This was my favorite part of the internship because I got to see the limits of many products and analyze why and how they failed. For example one of the products that I rigorously tested was a simple LED and LED housing. I was told the product would be badly beaten and distressed throughout its life in the field, and therefore we needed to know the absolute limits of the product. I really enjoyed this process because I knew they wanted me to take this product to the point of failure and do a failure analysis. What engineer wouldn't like that!I'm always striving to learn and expose myself to uncharted categories of engineering. This internship opportunity was a great way to expose myself to the world of engineering and I look forward to my next internship. Show less
