Designer 2SAF-HOLLAND - Muskegon, MIFebruary 2022 to October 2024Responsible for the creative elements of product design. Work from limited information such as sketches, layouts, marked-up prints, incomplete drawings, partial models or simple verbal instructions.Performs mathematical computations to develop design and work out detailed specifications of components.Analyze specifications, sketches, engineering drawings, prior designs, DFMEA's, ideas and related historical design data to determine critical factors affecting design of components. Collaborate with engineering, quality and manufacturing to identify past issues on similar products and/or resolve design issues.Support the engineers by performing preliminary and advanced work in the development of working layouts, solid models and production drawings. Coordinate overall product design documentation including ECN's drawings, partial numbers, quotations, BOM's, tolerance analysis and assure integrity of all 3d solid models.Develop GD&T datum and tolerancing as it relates to a 3d model.Participate as appropriate in prototype fabrication, design verification and validation testing to fully understand design related issue in advance of production.Assist as appropriate to resolve customer, supplier and manufacturing plant issues related to product.

Sr. Test TechnicianSAF Holland USA - Muskegon, MIOctober 2010 to February 2022Develop, build and test products and conduct a variety of evaluations on current and prototype products.Fabricate parts and fixtures for testing purposes, analyze testing data acquired to provide input on product or test design.Develop and follow test procedures to perform and report standard test results to Engineers for existing or new products as assigned .Provide input on capital equipment and test designs based on analysis of data acquired through testing and experience.Performs basic PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) and Servo hydraulic programming.Maintains hydraulic units, grease machines, fixtures, and repair broken parts.Effectively communicate with team members and Engineers.Be proficient in GMAW, SMAW, GTAW welding processes.Required to have the ability to work with mills, lathes, drill press, and saw; ability to layout parts and read drawings; have proficient welding skills; a working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, basic electronics, NDT methods; basic PLC Programming; proficient in use of data acquisition equipment (DAQ); proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel products; strong attention to detail and have good interpersonal and communication skills; and must be a team player.
