About Brendon Boyd

I customize events with lighting and production management at the forefront. For over a decade as owner and principle designer of Boyd Design, Inc. I've been part of hundreds of productions ranging from small private parties, to mid sized theatrical shows, to large scale national televised events. My company is a design and consultancy firm that provides a specialized spectrum of services honed to the live and televised Event industry: From lighting design, to production management and to technical consultation, the firm offers a turn-key service for their clients. Customization is the name of the game and every event is unique! Regardless of the scale or scope of a particular project, Boyd Design collaborates with their clients by identifying a project’s possibilities--and working with them to extend their original vision. No regional production in the New York metropolitan area can compare in scale and affordability. Thousands of attendees return year after year, making Westchester Ballet Company’s Nutcracker a cornerstone of the holiday season.A cast of 110 dancers, 82 of which are youth dancers from 20 towns and villages across Westchester and beyond, rehearse for 3 months each fall to prepare for performances held in the third week of December at Lehman Center for the Performing Arts in the Bronx. As Lighting Designer I interface with the Artistic Team, PM, TD and IA crew to execute a lovely looking performance.

    The Mile-Long Opera: a biography of 7 o’clock was an ambitious, collective, free choral work that shared personal stories from hundreds of New Yorkers about life in our rapidly changing city.Set in one of the most dynamic public spaces for observing New York City and its multitude of intersecting lives, The Mile-Long Opera invited audiences to move in and out of groups of singers as they walk along the 1.5 miles of the High Line Park. As Director of Production I oversaw all technical elements related to this production from inception. Worked closely with partners (DS+R and FHL) to facilitate smooth design and implementation. Managed a labor budget of nearly half a million as well as all designers and their rentals.
