Boyd Kodak is a songwriter, musician, filmmaker, curator, festival director, writer, event producer, programmer, human rights activist, and Chair of the Toronto Trans Alliance. Boyd is a transsexual man. Prior to transitioning he set a Human Rights precedent, as Jan Waterman. It has since been included in the Human Rights Code and Teaching Human Rights in Ontario. Its been referred to as the beginning of L&G history in Canada. Boyd won a second historical Human Rights victory in 2015 against Toronto Police Service. The remedy, currently in the works, requires a complete revision of guidelines and training procedures.Boyd has been involved with Trans in the media since the mid '90's, being the first Trans person on the programming committee of a LGBTQ festival and curating Trans programs for festivals worldwide. Boyd played a large role in changing the L&G community to the LGBTQ community. Boyd has won " Proud Hero" and "Lifetime Achievement" awards, and in 2012 was inducted into the International LBGT Hall of Fame. He will be inducted into the LGBTQ Walk of Heroes Monument being built.Boyd is currently writing a musical. Boyd also suffers from Lupus. His need for a recovery from flare up, resulted in him spending years studying alternative meds. He became engulfed in CBD research and became extremely knowledgeable in the subject, helping himself and many others thereafter.
