My career began in the Dutch Marine Corps, where I served in special units and was deployed to Afghanistan. During this time, I was honored with a commendation and received my combat badge, something I’m quite proud of. This experience marked the start of my journey into the security industry.After my time in the military, I transitioned into the private sector, conducting high-level surveillance across Europe, primarily targeting extremist groups. This hands-on work gave me deep insights into human behavior and sharpened my investigative skills, which eventually led to founding my own private investigation agency Arcani in Rotterdam in 2014.I consider myself a pragmatic person who focuses on getting things done—actions speak louder than words. Building strong networks has been key to my success, and I’ve learned that treating people with respect opens doors. However, that doesn’t mean I’m a pushover. I’m direct and honest, someone who won’t let people take advantage of me. I firmly believe everyone starts as a good person, but I can quickly spot when things aren’t as they seem. My approach is simple: tough on the facts, but soft on the person.My agency thrives on a no-nonsense, results-driven approach. We specialize in skip tracing, shareholder and corporate conflicts, creative fieldwork, and surveillance, leveraging a global network to get results. These skills, combined with a disciplined mindset, make us stand out in the industry.Outside of work, I stay balanced by focusing on what brings me peace. Boxing is my main sport, I go 2-3 times a week, and it really helps me clear my mind and stay grounded. It’s my zen moment. I also enjoy playing padel, which I love to do with friends and relations. Despite the intensity of my work, I always prioritize spending time with my kids. Family is incredibly important to me.Though I may seem like the “tough guy” on the outside, I also have a nerdy side. I love chess, reading, and constant self-development. My latest intellectual challenge is diving into the works of Immanuel Kant, a journey that teaches me life lessons. I find that balancing physical and mental activities is key to my personal and professional growth.In the end, I am, and always will be, a Marine at heart. The three key lessons I carry from that time are: hustle, handle, and build relationships. I take pride in my straightforward approach, with a bit of humor on the edge, sometimes even over it. I’m a hard worker, driven by the “action speak louder then words” mentality—keeping things real, keeping things moving.
