About Birgit Paal

Since 2013, I have been involved in European Union affairs with work experience from all three main EU institutions - the European Commission, Parliament and the Council. In my current role as a Home Affairs Counsellor I am participating in EU's policy-making in the following, often highly political and sensitive, areas: Schengen and borders, visas, returns and legal migration.Having worked as a Policy Officer responsible for EU, bilateral and Brexit issues in the British Embassy Tallinn, I also possess work experience from the UK Foreign Office, As a person, I am goal-oriented, determined, team-player and quick learner. Always open for new and interesting challenges leading to further personal and professional development.
