Barclays Desktop ServicePlus (BDS+) programme formed a huge multi-year investment by the Bank in refresh of its business desktop, and back-end network services. This was an exciting project, introducing brand new, and feature rich network services to the business.I worked closely with many of the core Microsoft technologies and managed implementation of a large VMware Virtual Infrastructure solution. To support deployment of infrastructure and applications:- Twelve (5-node) VMware Infrastructure 3 (VI3) Clusters hosted approximately 800+ virtual machines.ESX Clusters were hosted on HP BladeSystem infrastructure and featured: High Availability (HA) & Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS) designs.
