Managing Director of Pin Point Alerts, a location-based alerts service provider catering for Irish and international markets. The primary client base includes local authorities and other government agencies (MapAlerter.com). Pin Point Alerts also provides a leading "Community Alert" service to a large number of groups across Ireland to assist with crime prevention (CommunityAlerts.ie). Our latest product offering in the "alert space" is SchoolAlerts.ie, an SMS-less communications service that allows schools to communicate with parents through existing well-known apps such as Facebook Messenger, Viber and Telegram. Finally, we launched PlanningAlerts.ie in 2019, a solution for Irish businesses to make better use of Irish planning application data.As MD I am responsible for all aspects of company growth, strategy and development. Coming from a technical background I act as CTO to ensure that our diverse technological set up is reliable, scalable, robust and meets the needs and expectations of all our clients. When I am not wearing my technical hat, my MD roles ensures that I am kept occupied as a Client Manager, Business Development Manager and much more. All hands on deck for a small company where you chip in at all levels.My main background is Geographical Information Systems and I have experience of various GIS software over the past 15 years. I am Ireland's longest serving Certified FME Professional and I have developed a number of innovations using this software. I have won numerous awards for public speaking (mostly about FME topics) and my company is a strategic partner of ESRI Ireland for FME Professional Services that link with ArcGIS deployments. I have also gained GDPR Data Protection certification taking both Foundation and Practitioner exams with IBITGQ.
