I am passionate about material culture and sustainability in the built environment as they pertain to the natural world and its effects on human behavior and environmental ethics and aesthetics. I fill my mind with new ideas by asking questions, reading, studying, observing, or listening. Typically, I accumulate facts, stories, examples, or background information from the people I meet to satisfy my curiosity. These insights allow me to understand why individuals behave the way they do in different situations. I am proficient in many of the mainstream computer applications used in Interior Design, with a particular interest and experience in sustainable design. After organizing a ten-week LEED Green Associate exam prep class, I achieved my LEED Green Associate certification in November 2017. In connection with my passion for sustainability, I was appointed the president of the United States Green Building Council student chapter at Oklahoma State University. During the summer and winter of 2018, I interned with Corgan, a commercial design firm located in Dallas, Tx. The assigned responsibilities helped strengthen my integrative design strategies and also enhanced my teamwork skills. I am currently studying to take the WELL AP exam.
