As Senior Assistant City Attorney I am tasked with supervising the work of the Assistant City Attorney and the City Attorney's Office paralegal and handle more complex matters for the City than the Assistant City Attorney.

In the nine years I served as Assistant City Attorney, I provided legal advice and strategic guidance to the Mayor, City staff, City Council Members, and citizen boards and commissions. I have represented the City of Fayetteville in judicial and administrative proceedings including litigation, EEOC and HUD discrimination complaints, Arkansas Public Service Commission applications, and regulatory matters before the Arkansas Pollution Control and Ecology Commission. As the primary advisor to the Planning Commission and Development Services Department, I am tasked with providing guidance to policy makers who are developing the City’s long term land use and development plans.One of my major accomplishments during my tenure was the passage of Fayetteville’s Small Cell Facility ordinance following the adoption of the Arkansas Small Wireless Facilities Deployment Act. I led a team made up of staff of several City departments and negotiated with industry representatives from AT&T, Cox Communications, Verizon, and small cell infrastructure companies.In March of 2020, I was asked by Mayor Jordan to serve on his Small Business Resiliency Task Force. We were charged with identifying and reducing regulatory barriers for businesses in Fayetteville trying to survive during the COVID-19 pandemic. We provided guidance to business owners and policy makers with the goal of bolstering our local economy while keeping our residents and visitors as safe as possible. The Task Force also led to the creation of Fayetteville's Outdoor Refreshment Area ordinance, which allowed restaurants and bars to continue operating.My involvement with the International Municipal Lawyers Association, IMLA’s University Cities initiative, the Arkansas Municipal League, and the Arkansas City Attorneys Association has allowed me to forge relationships with local government leaders across Arkansas and the United States.
