As an engineer I worked on several parts of the IM/e, the current electric lap record holder at circuit Zandvoort. I worked for example on driveshafts, steering system and suspension. Currently I am more involved in the vehicle dynamics and suspension setup of the car. I especially like working on the setup of the car during track days with input from our drivers. As an experienced team member and old board member I also have an advisory function to help the current board of the team.

The goal of InMotion is to participate in the 24 hours race of Le Mans as a student team in 2017. The IM01 hybrid race car features a wide range of innovative technology to enable the speed of formula one racing at only half the fuel consumption, for 24 consecutive hours. The IM/e is the predecessor of the IM01 and embodies an all-electric test platform to train our engineers and test components. With this car we set a new electric vehicle lap record at Circuit Zandvoort. My main task was managing the engineering work on the IM/e, but beside managing I also worked on the engineering and construction of the IM/e. Vehicle stability analysis a solar car: Stella Lux

As an intern I worked at the chassis department involved with the vehicle handling behaviour. I studied tire behaviour from measurements conducted with one type of tire. A part of these measurements are executed myself at Eindhoven University of Technology before the start of my internship. The goal was to increase understanding of cornering stiffness measurements, by evaluating different post-processing methods, test rigs and measurements protocols. This resulted in an improved measurement protocol (parameter control and time reduction) and better understanding of a tire undergoing dynamic changing vertical loads.

Stichting Activiteiten Simon Stevin is responsible for the international study tour committee of the faculty mechanical engineering at the TU/e. This event is organized every two years for approximately 30 students, last years the locations were Japan, Korea, China and the tour following my board year is going to Singapore and Malaysia.

Study Association of Mechanical Engineering Simon Stevin is the study association for bachelor and master students of the Eindhoven University of Technology of the department of Mechanical Engineering. The association has over 1000 members, of which approximately 120 members participate in one of the 20 committees. As a full time board member, I was Chairman of the board of five members and the association, thereby also Commissioner of Land Yachting, as in which I was responsible for the fleet of Land Yachts owned by the association and organizing events with them.
