Bill Poulos is an investor, financial educator, and retired automotive executive. He holds a bachelor's in engineering (from GMI) and an MBA, with a major in finance (from the University of Michigan). Bill was born at Providence Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Jim and Penny, his folks, were Greek immigrants who came to the United States as children. Growing up, he was in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts (the youngest Eagle Scout in the Detroit area). Bill was on the swim team in high school and graduated near the top of his class. Bill met his would-be wife (Karen Asquini) at age 14. They were neighborhood friends who later dated in high school. In 1969 they got married. They have three sons, Gregory, Robert, & Michael.After high school, Bill attended GMI-studying and working on the floor of Cadillac Motor Division (through GMI's co-op program). He graduated with a degree in engineering, in 1970. GM hired him. Bill worked full-time while also attending the University of Michigan. There he earned an MBA as a finance major. Bill had 30 great years at GM. He ended his career there in 2001 as Director of the Vehicle Development Center. That same year, Bill and Greg Poulos co-founded Profits Run, Inc. (from the kitchen table). Profits Run is a financial research publishing company. The corporation teaches people how to invest in a simple and safer way. It was around 1974 that Bill began trading in the markets as a hobby. Over time, through trial and error, studying, and passion, he learned how to become a smarter and safer trader. As a retired auto executive, Bill was now a great investor with time on his hands. His son Greg was a brilliant marketer. Timing was right. Skillsets were right. It just made perfect sense for Profits Run to come to be.
