The Cyprus Federation of Business and Professional Women (BPW Cyprus) is a non-governmental, non-political organization established in 1996. BPW Cyprus is a full member of the International Federation of Business and Professional Women (BPW International). Our members include influential women leaders, business owners and executives, professional and young career women.BPW international is one of the most influential international networks of business and professional women with affiliates in 80 countries all over the world.BPW International has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ESOSOC), participating status with the Council of Europe and is actively involved in the European Women’s Lobby. The European Federation of BPW of which BPW Cyprus is a member has affiliates in 29 European countries with 19000 members.BPW Cyprus is a member and participates on the Board of: · TheNational Machinery for Women’s Rights (Ministry of Justice and Public Order) · The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and IndustryBPW Cyprus also cooperates with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism on issues of women entrepreneurship and with other governmental organizations, NGOs and other European and International networks.HistoryThe Cyprus Federation of Business and Professional Women (BPW Cyprus) was established in 1996 but our affiliation with the International Federation of Business and Professional Women (BPW International) began in 1988. With the establishment of our first three local BPW Associations in 1996 we acquired the status of Federation.
