I am a professed Brother in the Franciscans of Joy, an Old Catholic Tradition within the Independent Catholic Church of the Americas. I am also enrolled in the Independent Catholic Church of the Americas Seminary studying for the permanent deaconate. I have worked as a RN since graduating nursing school in 1984. My nursing experience has included drug and alcohol recovery/detox, psychiatric nursing, physical rehabilitation, pain care, military nursing, occupational health, nursing home care, and pediatric/camp nursing. I use these skills in developing my ministry, Mother Mary Society http://mother-mary.jimdo.com/ . It is my goal to transition from nursing into a chaplain position full-time in either hospital/hospice chaplaincy or prison ministry (but would consider other FT chaplain specialties). As clergy or religious in the ICCA we are not paid by the church for pastoral services, and must continue to work within the community to support ourselves in addition to our ministries. It is my hopes to work as a chaplain in these later years of my professional life. I can provide a resume upon request of my nursing background. Within this profile my concentration will be pastoral based.My experiences are not limited to the ICCA. Prior to the Franciscans of Joy I was raised Roman Catholic, studied shamanic practice and pagan earth-based religions, and was ordained as a Buddhist Lay-Priest (Universal Buddhism), I received a Masters in Religion and Hon. Doctorates of Divinity from the ULC. I truly have an Interfaith Spiritual background. I am also a Reiki Master/Teacher, herbalist, Tai Chi/Chi Kung practitioner and instructor, and martial artist (Inducted into the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame, Karate Union Hall of Fame, and Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Honors). I hold black belts in multiple styles. I have been awarded the title of Professor and a PhD/MA from TWMAHOF.
