Determined to make a difference throughout South Africa, I founded Sporting Chance in 1990, with the mission to give children a ‘Sporting Chance’ regardless of their background. I have pioneered many sport coaching initiatives into our under resourced communities. Over 270 000 children across the country have been involved in these programmes, including a number of sportsmen and women who have worked their way up the ranks to represent provincial and national teams.In my effort to understand the key components surrounding the development of leading sportsmen and women in South Africa, I pioneered research into childhood obesity, together with the Sports Science Institute of South Africa, in the Health of the Nation Programme. These results led to the founding of Supersport Let’s Play as well as more recently the Disney Healthy Happy Play Programme. Further to this, Sporting Chance has received extensive media coverage for our positive impact in the following Sport for Development programmes: - Calypso Beach Cricket- Street Netball- Street Soccer- Street Cricket I am a forward thinking entrepreneur and take great pride in the successes of Sporting Chance over the last 34 years. I was recently honored to become an official Ambassador for Brand South Africa.
