About Brad Campling

As an Industrial Engineer, my entire career has been focused on eliminating waste and creating flow in complex manufacturing and administrative systems. My Kaizen / Continuous Improvement journey began in 1997 when I had the opportunity to work with and learn from Shingijutsu consultants that my employer partnered with. This hands-on experience became the foundation of my career in continuous improvement, and a few years ago I had the opportunity to participate in an intense learning experience with them in Japan. Since then, I have worked with the U.S. Air Force and Navy, as well as hundreds of companies ranging from industry giants to small niche suppliers in a variety of industries around the world focused entirely on Kaizen / Continuous Improvement. This experience gave me the confidence to co-found Stream in 2011. Stream is a Cincinnati-based process innovation and lean consulting firm that partners with clients to improve the profitability, productivity, quality and efficiency of their businesses. Streaminnovation.comIn late 2014, we had just completed a successful project with a custom suit manufacturer. So we decided to apply our continuous improvement philosophy and apparel manufacturing experience to launch Valor Custom Denim. After a couple years of research, buying equipment and producing prototypes, we launched in June of 2017. Valor offers complete customization of fit and materials, with a streamlined value stream that links the customer directly to the manufacturer. Valordenim.comSpecialties: aerospace / defense consulting, lean manufacturing, value stream mapping, capacity modeling, Shingijutsu philosophy to process improvement, supplier development, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA), specialty / technical apparel manufacturing, custom cabinet manufacturing

Stream is a Cincinnati-based process innovation and lean consulting firm that partners with clients to improve the profitability, productivity, quality and efficiency of their businesses. Unlike typical consultants who merely observe and report findings, we roll up our sleeves and work side-by-side with our clients’ employees to implement practical changes that produce lasting improvements—and teams that know how to win.Stream typically follows the engagement structure identified in the Innovation Roadmap below: FOUNDATION FRAMEWORKFlow: As our name implies, Stream believes in developing processes that improve the flow of materials, information and people throughout the value stream. Eliminate Waste: Non-value-added processes interrupt the flow of materials, information and people throughout the value stream. Respect for People: Front-line personnel are the keys to success. People make products; therefore, we must develop the people we count on the most. Stream’s process is designed to engage the people who understand the processes the best and seek their input about issues and solution ideas.OUR METHODStep 1 Facts and Data: Stream uses tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Pareto Analysis, PFMEA and traditional time study observations to develop a deep understanding of the actual current state (which may be different from popular belief). Step 2 Balance the Work Flow: Stream uses tools such as Takt Time and Theory of Constraints to establish a pace, or rhythm, that the value stream needs to flow at to meet demand requirements. Step 3 Innovate the Process: Stream challenges the status quo within organizations to drive innovative solutions, rather than settling for smaller improvements. We focus on what has to be in place to achieve significant innovation rather than constraints that limit the current state processes.
