Started the process engineering department with the mission of creating and maintaining in-house expertise in the processes used on company produced equipment. These activities were primarily centered around various heating applications used to solder solar cells, including magnetic induction, infrared, contact heating, hot air, and flame heating. Other processes such as fluid deposition, epoxy curing, and thermal/vacuum lamination were also areas of focus. Built and managed a multi-disciplined international team to successfully carry out the mission through concept, design, testing, and transfer to production. Responsible for successful implementation of closed loop induction soldering used on more than 400 machines delivered to customers worldwide, and considered to be a market leading soldering process.

Working with company sales team, created written proposals for custom automation solutions worth up to $5MM. Frequently met with customers to understand their needs and product specifications, then developed and proposed solutions to them. Prototyped some concepts for risk mitigation and demonstration of concept to the customer. Responsible for machine concepts, budget/sales prices, concept drawings, written proposals, and technical presentations to customers.
