I planned, coordinated, and supervised all truck missions in and around the Bamberg, Germany region, as well as tactical combat logistical missions while deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom VIII. I was responsible for scheduling and supervising the maintenance of a fleet of 30 tactical vehicles. I was responsible for training and preparing the platoon for the tactical, combat mission and related tasks in support of the deployment. I was also tasked with serving as the Anti-Terrorism, Force Protection Noncommissioned Officer, overseeing the security of a Forward Operating Base in Eastern Afghanistan that housed over 3,000 Soldiers. This task included the perimeter defense in which I scheduled, managed, and coordinated a 48 Soldier rotating guard force. The scope of my duties also included the Entry Control Point where we controlled and issued badges to over 1000 local national laborers daily, searched and allowed entry of over 200 local national vehicles daily, used biometric techniques to identify and detain personnel in the world-wide database that were wanted, or banned, from entry in to US and Coalition Forward Operating Bases.
