Accounting Technician
CurrentCurrently Working for the DOT Financial Operations / Financial Management at the Highway Building. This position requires daily contact with DMV employees, License Plate Agencies, Driver’s License Agencies, the State Highway Patrol and the general public through correspondence and telephone. This position is responsible for posting payments for citations issued by the SHP into the Fuel Tax Compliance System and posting payments into the SAP system. This position is also responsible for the management of the DOJ collection portal for liability insurance penalties and other outstanding debt.Other responsibilities include: record user code payments through the cash management control system (CMCS). Confirm payment receipts submitted by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol/Motor Carrier Enforcement Section. Receipt details are sent to fiscal through daily receipt control sheets for accounting technicians to confirm and prepare and apply towards the daily deposit. Maintain DOT fiscal – DMV revenue service account reports including traffic records/certified customer fee receipts (i.e. crash reports), notice of Intent to Sell a Vehicle to Satisfy Storage and/or Mechanic's Lien, as well as motor vehicle records through the SAP production system.
